Cruising through the news real quick tonight and I see the NYT reporting that Obama may be going to tap a NFG (New Fucking Guy) to head the FBI.The name sounded familiar too.
If you were paying attention to all the fucking horrors that went flying by in a blur during the Bush administration, you may recall hearing that name too.
Do you remember Plamegate?
You know, where Scooter Libby fell on his sword protecting Darth Cheney and several others for outing Valerie Plame’s identity as an undercover CIA operative.
If you will recall, the prosecutor was Patrick Fitzgerald, one stand up motherfucker of a guy.
The one who nominated Fitz was none other than Comey, who at the time was the number two guy at the Department of Justice.
That’s right, the United States Deputy Attorney General.
Two things about him stand out to me right away,he has integrity and he has balls.
Big fucking balls.
Comey is also the guy who told those bunch of rat fuckers in the Bush administration to go pound sand when they were looking for legal cover to renew their illegal wiretapping program.
Ashcroft was the AG and was in the hospital for surgery, so Comey was the acting head.
Read this sanitized version of what happened. It was a fucking SCANDAL and those sonsabitches were absolutely fucking desperate to have that shit signed off.

In early January 2006, The New York Times, as part of their investigation into alleged domestic surveillance by the National Security Agency, reported that Comey, who was Acting Attorney General during the March 2004 surgical hospitalization of John Ashcroft, refused to “certify” the legality of central aspects of the NSA program at that time. The certification was required under existing White House procedures to continue the program.[13]
After Comey’s refusal, the newspaper reported, Andrew H. Card Jr., White House Chief of Staff, and Alberto R. Gonzales, then White House counsel and future Attorney General, made an emergency visit to the George Washington University Hospital [4], to attempt to win approval directly from Ashcroft for the program.[13] According to the 2007 memoir of Jack Goldsmith, who had been head of the Office of Legal Counsel at the time, he went to the hospital to give Ashcroft support to withstand the pressure from the White House.
Comey confirmed these events took place (but declined to confirm the specific program) in testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee on 16 May 2007.[14][15][16][17][18][19] FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III, like Comey, also supported Ashcroft’s decision; both men were prepared to resign if the White House ignored the Department of Justice’s legal conclusions on the wiretapping issue. FBI director Mueller’s notes on the March 10, 2004 incident, which were released to a House Judiciary committee, confirms that he “Saw [the] AG, John Ashcroft in the room. AG is feeble, barely articulate, clearly stressed.”[20] Comey withdrew his threat to resign after meeting directly with President Bush, who gave his support to making changes in the surveillance program.[21]
What that doesn’t say is that Comey hauled ass over to the hospital and caught Gonzales and Andy Card red fucking handed trying to get Ashcroft to sign those papers, even though Ashcroft was absolutely out of it.
Recall that the Bush administration was chock full of arm twisting thugs.
Rat fuckers like that miserable little cocksucker Karl Rove , with all kinds of other vermin and Mr. Comey stood up on his two legs and told them all to go fuck themselves basically.
Those are the two things that made him stand out of a crowd to me at the time, nominating Fitz and saying no to something Dick Fucking Cheney wanted very badly.
Even better, the fucking guy is a Republican.
If Obama does actually nominate the guy the obstructionist pricks on the Right would have to twist themselves into pretzels to come up with a reason to try and hold up his nomination.
Personally, I would like to see him get the spot.Then I would like to see a very large cloud of dust over the top of headquarters.That joint seriously needs some Spring cleaning and Comey doesn’t care too much for shady dealings I think. He is pretty much a straight shooter.

That’ may be wishful thinking or maybe some rose colored glass talk but that is the impression I have always gotten from the man.
We shall see.
His experience at Justice certainly will have some influence and if he has the guts to tell Dick Cheney no, he will probably be able to make Obama cry.
