I just walked in and noticed I have a HUGE hairball in my sink.
It’s 90 degrees out and I guess she thinks it’s cooler in the bathroom sink.
Weirdo cat.
For a picture as close to what Baby Girl looks like as you will ever see, go over to Earth Bound’s and check out Rocky, her friends cat.Baby Girl looks exactly like him!
I asked her what breed of cat he is and she said she and her friends think he has some Maine Coon in it.
That’s what I keep thinking about Baby Girl, sheddingest cat on the planet, she got rid of that huge mane under her chin in two weeks. Most of it in my bathtub.
Sheese.
It seems I am not the only one who has big furballs in the sink trouble, apparently, it is a common problem!

I water my cats. Well, cat. On hot afternoons, I get a cold glass of water and talking softly, start taking the cold water in my hand and putting it around his neck and on his head. I get the cold water as close to the arteries to his head as I can, and around his throat. This can cool him down quite a bit. At first the cats hated this, but then they realized how much cooler it made them, so now they grumpily tolerate it. After I’ve watered them, they even appreciate it. Depending on the cat, you might try this. Good luck.

Oh Please don’t shave the cat/s
Brush the fool out of them, and maybe look into one of those ’sticky-rubber’ brush things that helps remove extra hair. Or invest in a “Furminator” that is made for cats. They are awesome!!! and they work.
it is one of the things that helps protect them from the heat. Insulates them, helps them stay body temperature. Besides if you shave them, they might not forgive you, and you end up just sweeping up shorter hair. At least the long hair makes itself into balls in the corners.
I’ve got a cat as well as a dog, and I don’t know how they shed so much without being nekid!! lolol
Oh and I am ‘below the belt’ Good guess.

CatsInSinks has provided a few illustrations at my blog, perhaps not intentionally.
Cats do shed more when they become upset. Mine used to do that all the time when they were at the vet. I agree that shaving them isn’t a good idea. You vet may have other suggestions.

I got more hits from this link than from any other you’ve posted, so I guess it’s true that blog readers go nutso for cats.

I have one mentally-challenged and “special” cat who is always in the sink and has to be chased out of the shower.

Cats love hanging out in sinks. It is universal.
